Dear Parents and Carers,
A very warm welcome to Henry Chichele Primary School Early Years Foundation Stage September 2017/18.
Our Foundation Stage comprises of two Reception classes and although the classes are normally separate, we shall be working closely together for the first couple of terms whilst the new accomodation is being built. Once our new classrooms are ready for occupation we will break out to form two seperate classes although we will, of course, still be working together on lots of occasions. Our team comprises of two teachers and two teaching assistants as follows:
Class teachers - Mrs Walmsley and Mrs Johnson
Teaching Assistant - Miss Barnes
Starting school can raise many questions for children and parents alike, and to try and answer some of your queries we have put together a Frequently Asked Questions section that you will find below. However, if you do have anything that you would like to know that has not been addressed, please feel free to contact us.
Drop off’s and Collections
Please drop your child/children off at 8.50am and the register is taken at 9.00am. Please bring your child to the gate situated before the reception playarea. If you arrive after 9.00am please go to the main office.
Our day ends at 3.10pm and please collect your children from the same entrance that you dropped them off at. Our priority is that children leave safely and with the correct adult. If you need to make alternative collection arrangements please can you speak to a member of the Team in the morning or contact the office prior to the end of the day to avoid any confusion at home time.
How to Contact us
If you have anything that you wish to discuss please feel free to speak to us on the door, preferably at the end of the day. Alternatively you can call the school office on 01933 352850 or our email addresses are as follows:
We will respond to emails and phone calls as soon as we can.
Henry Chichele Primary School operates a ‘paperless’ policy so we will issue any newsletters, curriculum information or diary dates via email. Don't forget to check the school 'next 7 days' section on a Sunday evening for events for the forthcoming week! If you have not already done so, please can you give the School Office your email address so we can send the information to you.
We aim to read with children at least once a week. On the odd occasion your child does not read with an adult at school their reading book will still be changed. It is beneficial for children to read regularly at home; when you read with your child please can you leave a brief comment in their Reading Record.
Star of the Week and Travelling Ted
Over the course of the year every child will be Star of the Week and get to bring Travelling Ted home. The reason a child is nominated for Star of the Week will vary greatly and will be dependent on the individual achievements of the child. When it is your turn to have Travelling Ted, please can you update his diary with what you have done over the weekend and your child can discuss it with the class on the Monday. Please be reassured that Ted enjoys a weekend at home with you as much as going out to do an activity!
The Reception Team are looking forward to working with you and your children over the coming year and if you have any worries or concerns please do not hesitate to contact us.
