Dear Year One,

We hope you are all well and happy. It is very strange not to see your lovely smiling faces each day. :) :) :) We are really missing you. :( :( :(

We are enjoying planning the activities for you to complete at home and we love looking at the 2-Dos that you post on Purple Mash and leaving a little message for you. Please continue to complete them.

We hope that you are enjoying spending time with the people in your home and maybe doing fun things you might not usually do. It can be difficult for your grown-ups not to be able to go out and see their friends too so please be kind and polite to them and help as much at home as you can and keep washing your hands regularly.

We have been using our time at home doing things we don’t always have time for like baking tasty cakes (when we can find the ingredients in the shops), cooking Spanish food, improving Spanish language and exercising at home.

We look forward to seeing you all again, when the government tells us all that it’s safe to do so. Until then, stay at home, stay safe and keep smiling.

Best wishes, Miss Scott :) and Mrs Scott :)

Dear Year 1,

We hope you are all well. We know that your lessons at home will be very different to being at school but we hope you are enjoying the activities we have planned for you. We have enjoyed seeing the activities you have completed as 2-Dos on Purple Mash and we can see that many of you are continuing to do the activities we set on Active Learn too. If you have any issues logging in please email us.

Last week we set you an activity to grow plants of your own. One idea was to use food waste to grow new plants. Below are some photos of an avocado stone and a celery stump that we are trying to grow new plants from. Watch this space!

We hope that we are able to see you all before too long. Keep smiling! :)

Please can you ensure your child's reading book and reading diary are in school every day. The children change their books when they are finished. Books will not be changed if the reading diary has not been written in. We hear children read throughout the course of each week, either as part of a supported reading group or individually.

The children will be wearing their PE uniform for the entire day on their PE days.

Homework will be set on a Wednesday for spellings and Friday for maths. We would like children to be heard read daily. This will build confidence within the children when they come to partake in guided reading sessions.
